Building scopes & viewing the night sky

Welcome to Kerry's Astronomy Home Page

My site is designed to showcase my telescope building adventures, the equipment I use, and the places I go to use the various telescopes I own.   A lot of patience is required with this hobby, as the weather in the Northwest can be a real challenge...lots of clouds and rain!  When the skies are clear - the fun begins.  Viewing objects like the Moon, planets, comets, meteor showers, galaxies, star clusters, and much more is a great way to relax and end an otherwise hectic day.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by and take a look at what I enjoy so much.

Keep an eye on the VIDEOS section!

Throughout the summer, I will be adding new videos of Deep Space Objects (DSO's) such as Nebulas, Star Clusters and Galaxies.  The Planets, Moon and Sun will also be featured, along with the occasional Satellite and hopefully the International Space Station.

If you have some extra time, be sure to stop by Ebright Creek Park on the second Saturday of each month.  This is where the "Pine Lake Urban Telescope Observers" hold a free to the public star party.  This gathering is hosted by Jim Bachesta.   Viewing the stars and other astronomical objects begins at dusk and lasts several hours.  Of course, this depends on having clear weather.  You can "click" on the link provided for driving directions.   http://www.ci.sammamish.wa.us/EbrightCreekPark.aspx

This years dates: Apr. 12\May 10\June 14\July 12\Aug 09\Sept 13\Oct 11\Nov 08\Dec 13.

Star party photos can be found in the Equipment section and are in the Star Party album.
